
Luminita Crisan, PhD, is a senior researcher at the “Coriolan Drăgulescu” Institute of Chemistry. Her research spans a broad range of topics, with a strong emphasis on computational chemistry and its versatile applications in in silico drug design. Throughout her career, she has developed innovative methodologies bridging theoretical chemistry with experimental science, particularly in the rational design of bioactive molecules targeting diabetes, neurodegenerative disorders, inflammation.
Her current research interests include the integration of in silico approaches with machine learning techniques to accelerate and improve the drug discovery process, as well as to design eco-friendly compounds relevant to sustainable agriculture and environmental protection.
Starting in 2025, she has been actively involved in science education initiatives, acting as project director for programs dedicated to advancing science education and stimulating student engagement with STEAM disciplines among school-aged learners.
